Caceres’ Corner Case 150 (Update: Solution)

esr_2016_blog-cacerescorner-150

Dear Friends,

Dr Pepe and I are very proud to have reached the 150th mark, which happens to be a case that we saw last month (honest!). The radiographs belong to a 68-year-old man, pre-op for cataracts.

What do you see? Check the images below, leave your thoughts for us in the comments section, and come back on Friday for the answer.

      Hello.
Maybe all these opacities could be vascular (arterial aneurysms) in origin. Does this patient have Behçet`s disease?

    2. Rv says:

      Pulmonary hamartoma

    3. khalid ALi says:

Multiple lobulated nodules with irregular cloudy calcifications seen at right middle and lower lobes , narrowing of right main bronchus with hyperiflation of right middle and lower lobes.possibility of bronchopulmonar amyloidosis shoud be considered.

    4. genchi bari italia says:

      …condromi multipli polmonari…

    5. Maria says:

      Amyloidosis

    6. Mk says:

Múltiple nodular pulmonary right lesions, with focal high densities (calcifications).
The trachea is little increased in side like the right principal bronchious.

    7. Mk says:

      Pulmonary hamartomas?

    8. sht says:

      Multiple hamartomas?

    9. Ren says:

Multiple calcified chondromas as calcification appears ring shaped .other differentials may be hamartomas, metastasis calcified granulomas

    10. Yul says:

Those are intrapulmonary masses with strong calcifications. Hamartomas vs carcinoid tumors

    11. Jose Caceres says:

What would you think if I you knew that the patient has other tumors?

    12. MK says:

Carney’s triad? Pulmonary chondromas, gastric leyomiosarcoma, extraadrenal paragnglioma.

    13. Olena Hural says:

      Multiple calcified chondromas

    14. tuan huy says:

This is the calcification lesion , with incomplete border sign, without opacifying pulmonary vessels —> it’s a chest wall lesion and may affect the ribs (second large nod in anterior). If we have another tumor , may be this is metastasis?! But even if, I think it’s still not a rapid developing lesion. Dear , Prof.

    15. mohanad says:

multiple well defined masses in right lung showing polymorphic and popcorn calcification mostly represent hamartomas
